亚洲无码 philosophy professor Dan Shahar is the winner of the 2020 Holmes Rolston III Early Career Essay Prize in Environmental Philosophy. The award, named in honor of one of the discipline鈥檚 early pioneers, is given annually by the International Society for Environmental Ethics.
Shahar, an assistant professor of philosophy, was awarded the prize for his paper, 鈥淗arm, Responsibility, and the Long-Term Impacts of Climate Change.鈥 As part of the win, Shahar receives $500 and will have his essay published in the journal Environmental Ethics.
Shahar鈥檚 research focuses on implications of environmental challenges for liberal societies and their members. He teaches courses in ethics, political philosophy and philosophy, politics and economics. He is the co-editor of the popular textbook, 鈥淓nvironmental Ethics: What Really Matters, What Really Works,鈥 published by Oxford University Press.
He holds a joint appointment in 亚洲无码鈥檚 Urban Entrepreneurship and Policy Institute.
