Three ÑÇÖÞÎÞÂë College of Business Administration students are among eight recipients of the 2020-2021 Julie A. Ard Undergraduate Award given by the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance -New Orleans Chapter.
The scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in accounting or finance, have earned at least 60 semester hours, and have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is named for Ard, who died in office while serving as president of the New Orleans chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance from 1982 to 1983.
The ÑÇÖÞÎÞÂë scholarship winners are:
• Yasameen Mohsin, a junior from Jordan majoring in accounting.
• Olivia Pelias, a junior from Metairie, Louisiana majoring in finance.
• Jinjiao Wang, a senior from Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China majoring in accounting.
In 1970, Miriam G. Berdou, CPA, Dorothy M. Doose and Margaret E. Lauer, CPA established the Scholarship Trust of the New Orleans chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance. The scholarship trust has been awarding scholarships to college students for over 40 years.
