The 2023 Krewe of Mardi Gras parade will roll through campus on Feb. 14—Valentine’s Day—with the theme, “Love on the Lakefront.”
The parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and features musician, singer and songwriter Amanda Shaw as the grand marshal.
The parade also includes marching bands from Sophie B. Wright High School and Morris Jeff Community School, The ettes, “extraordinary women with ordinary moves,” and students from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences who will climb aboard one of their research vessels and toss “sustainable” throws.
The parade will air on ’s Facebook page with hosts LeeAnne Sipe, ’s assistant dean for student affairs, and Mike Esordi, ’s associate director for web strategy, offering their own colorful insights.
Groups may register a parade float, walking group or a watch party along the parade route. Volunteers may also register to assist with the parade logistics. For more information on how to participate, visit the Krewe of Mardi Gras
